Annual average crop water requirement of Sugarcane in Sri Lanka
The
estimated annual average physiological crop water requirement of sugarcane in
Sevanagala and Udawalawe were 1420.5 mm and 1396.5 mm respectively. It varied
from 1384.6 -1454.8 mm and 1352.3 -1441.1 mm with changing planting dates. The
study further revealed that minimum annual irrigation water requirement of
sugarcane planted on 30th June, is about 649.3 mm/year and 619.1
mm/year in Sevanagala and Udawlawe respectively. It is about 700.4 mm/year in
Sevanagala and 685.2 mm/year in Udawlawe, for sugarcane planted on 1st
of January.
